WHAT IS SPEED AND WHY SPEED IS A SCALAR QUANTITY:👇

A speed is defined by the distance travelled by the transport, vehicle or anything with respect to time . It is a scalar quantity because it does not depend on the direction of the path travelled by the vehicle or any object where it only depends on the magnitude or number of meter or kilo meter travelled by the object with respect to time .so, speed is called scalar quantity .

The SI unit of that speed is meter per second ,where it derived by dividing the distance travelled by vehicle in terms of meter or kilo meter with respect to time as seconds ,minutes, hours respectively. This speed is measured by the device called odometer which records the distance travelled by the vehicle with respect to time ,it is usually combines with Instrument called speedometer  to indicate the speed of the any  transport or vehicle it is attached with.

The detailed information on speed is given in this video for your reference.

Here , the distance travelled by the vehicle of 30 kilometer within 40 minutes of time is measured by using the speed formula distance/time.
